Auto Transfer Switch System
Step Load Application
The system utilised 2 x load sharing generators, controlled by DSE8610s, which were installed into the basement of the apartment block. Each floor of the building was then connected to a DSE333 ATS Controller which controlled the load transfer to and from the generator supply.
Using this system applied the load in steps as each floor was transferred. This would avoid a potential step load that may be too large and likely to be in excess of the load acceptance specification of the gensets, causing the system to fail. Equally, the stepped transfer of the load from the generators back to the mains ensures the system would continue to operate normally, starting its shutdown sequence on removal of the last step load.
