DSE Language Editor
Control modules that have the facility to display different languages are a must for any company with a global focus. The ability to change individual phrases opens the door to many other advantages and the added value for the end user is something many OEM’s may not even be aware of.
DSE has a range of modules with an integrated language editing tool as part of the DSE Configuration Suite software. This allows terms to be changed to show the relevant language for the modules end destination. The number of supported languages is endless. The software supports all language formats including Chinese, Latin, Arabic and Cyrillic characters. It is a really powerful software package.
Everyone in the industry is aware of terminology differences. Individual languages can have terms that are different for the same feature from one end of a country to another. This is sometimes more apparent across continents. From the UK to USA, for example, terminology differences such as generator & genset, alternator & generator, mains & utility can cause confusion. In Portuguese the terminology for ‘leading’ and ‘lagging’ is not used at all, the terms meaning ‘capacitive’ and ‘inductive’ are preferred.
Colloquialisms like this can even be limited to individual companies where an OEM might have their own specific term for a function or action. Using the Language Editor enables the OEM to offer a truly bespoke experience and reduces end-user training time.
DSE understands that languages need to be flexible and sometimes individual. If the end user is to get the most out of their systems, all of their control modules with a text display screen should have the capability to be modified. The language editor is WYSIWYG enabled which makes it extremely easy to use. Phrases can be modified quickly within the Configuration Suite package and displayed instantly on the control modules LCD display.
There is also the option to save and download files into multiple modules simultaneously. This is ideal for supporting both small and large production environments.
The language tool also allows translation of the entire DSE Configuration Suite PC software if the requirement demands it ensuring DSE offers a truly global solution to all customers.
